Basketball Game Preview: Fredericktown Freddies vs. Northmor Golden Knights

The Fredericktown Freddies will take on the Northmor Golden Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fredericktown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Wednesday, Fredericktown strolled past Mt. Gilead with points to spare, taking the game 42-27. Given the Freddies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Indians are ranked 458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fredericktown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cally Carpenter, who went 8 of 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The matchup was Carpenter's third in a row with at least ten points. Mya Bryant was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Northmor played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Danville, falling 92-44. The Golden Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-20.

Northmor has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Fredericktown, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Fredericktown didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Northmor in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-39 victory.
