Volleyball Recap: Center Cougars vs. Bella Vista Broncos
Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bella Vista Broncos.
Center's offense was headlined by Emilio Giles and Anthony Garcia, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Julio Inguanzo Lopez and his 19 assists. Ethan Lee controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Bella Vista can attribute much of their success to Zach Hunt, who had seven digs and one assist. That's the most digs Hunt has posted over his last six games. Talmage Wigginton also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Center's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Bella Vista, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-13 record.
Center wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Roseville on the 22nd. As for Bella Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Tokay on the 22nd.
