Basketball Recap: Durant Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Durant had lost seven straight headed into Tuesday's matchup, but Matthew Suarez didn't let it get to eight. The Durant Cougars walked away with a 50-41 victory over the Freedom Patriots on Tuesday thanks in part to Suarez, who posted 16 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarcus Randall, who scored five points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Durant's win bumped their record up to 5-19. As for Freedom, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Durant will take on Tampa Bay Tech at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tampa Bay Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season. As for Freedom, they and Sports Leadership & Management will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
