Springfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the New Berlin Pretzels on Tuesday. The Senators not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024.
A.J. Ozier and Brody Scheffler made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Ozier pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Meanwhile, Scheffler struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Ozier went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Scheffler scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
