Softball Game Preview: Menominee Maroons vs. Kingsford Flivvers

The Menominee Maroons will challenge the Kingsford Flivvers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Menominee has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with nine straight losses, while Kingsford will come in with five straight wins.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Menominee's offense. They lost 15-0 to Marquette on Wednesday.

19 must be Kingsford's lucky number: they beat Marquette with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Flivvers beat the Sentinels by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Flivvers, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kingsford pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Menominee, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
