            West Mesa has gone 9-1 against Atrisco Heritage Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Friday. The West Mesa Mustangs will head out to  face off against the Atrisco Heritage Academy Jaguars  at 7:00  p.m. Atrisco Heritage Academy took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on West Mesa, who comes in off a win.
West Mesa took a loss when they played away from home  last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. They blew past Rio Grande 59-39. Given the Mustangs' advantage  in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings  (they are ranked 35th, while the Ravens are ranked 110th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for  Monique Sena, who  dropped  a double-double on 24 points and ten  steals. Her evening made it five games in a row in which  she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jaylin Varela, who  posted ten  points and six  rebounds.
 West Mesa  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 16  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.
 Meanwhile, Atrisco Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They received a  blow  as they fell  47-32 to Rio Grande.
 West Mesa has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record  this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.
 Everything went West Mesa's way against Atrisco Heritage Academy when the teams last played  on January 8th, as West Mesa made off with  a  61-37 victory.
