Volleyball Recap: Holmen Vikings vs. Waunakee Warriors

With a playoff game on the line, Holmen rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Waunakee Warriors. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Holmen had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-14, 25-18, 27-25.

Brenna Schmidt paced Holmen's offense, picking up 19 kills. Schmidt got some help from Sadie Mayer and her 20 assists.

When it comes to explaining why Waunakee lost, don't look at Evelyn Meyer. Despite the final result, she had six digs and 17 assists.

Holmen is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. As for Waunakee, their defeat dropped their record down to 26-17.
