Softball Recap: Gary West Side Comes Up Short

Gary West Side fell victim to Hammond Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Wolves, falling 13-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Gary West Side and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Hammond Central, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gary West Side will host Calumet New Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hammond Central, they will be playing at home against Highland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
