Football Recap: St. John's Falls to Lehman Catholic in First Game of Season

St. John kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers, falling 56-35. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Lehman Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Turner Lachey, who threw for 501 yards and eight TDs while completing 81.5% of his passes. Those 501 passing yards gave Lachey a new career-high. Cj Olding was Lachey's top target, picking up 256 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

St. John's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lehman Catholic, they will face off against Southeastern Local at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
