Basketball Game Preview: Sullivan West Bulldogs vs. Eldred Yellowjackets

The Sullivan West Bulldogs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Eldred Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eldred took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sullivan West, who comes in off a win.

Sullivan West can't be too worried about heading out to take on Eldred: they just beat Tri-Valley at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Sullivan West simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Tri-Valley 50-16. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Eldred had to suffer through a 64-24 loss at the hands of O'Neill. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 657th, while the Raiders are ranked 290th).

Sullivan West will have to contain Olivia Gonzalez as she made an impact in Eldred's last game. She dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Eldred's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Sullivan West, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Sullivan West took their win against Eldred when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 50-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sullivan West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
