Football Recap: St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings vs. Tattnall Square Academy Trojans
Friday just wasn't the day for St. Anne-Pacelli's offense. They were dealt a 27-0 defeat at the hands of the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans on Friday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
John Thompson threw for 36 yards on two of five attempts.
Jaquez Morgan was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards. On the ground,
Jason Nelson rushed for 72 yards.
Tattnall Square Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Antone Johnson, who rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. Johnson got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible77 yards. Ty Hunnicutt was in the mix as well, providing Tattnall Square Academy with two receiving touchdowns touchdowns.
St. Anne-Pacelli's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Tattnall Square Academy, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
St. Anne-Pacelli will face off against First Presbyterian Day at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Anne-Pacelli focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for Tattnall Square Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on George Walton Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
