Volleyball Recap: Hilmar Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hilmar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Ripon Christian Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Hilmar took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 29-27.

Emily Barroso paced Hilmar's offense, picking up 11 kills. Barroso got some help from Stella Pires and her 27 assists. Pires was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hilmar's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Ripon Christian, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Hilmar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Escalon on the 7th. As for Ripon Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Head-Royce on the 4th.
