University Prep extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-9. They were dealt an 89-45 defeat at the hands of the Big Bear Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 80-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Donald McFarlin, who posted 26 points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Okeke, who earned 14 points.

As for Big Bear, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

Big Bear's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Savion Sorapuru, who went 9-for-13 on his way to 18 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Those seven assists gave Sorapuru a new career-high. Brayden Benson was another key player, shooting 63% from the field to rack up 21 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Looking ahead, University Prep will be home for the holidays to greet Academy for Academic Excellence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Big Bear, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-39 win against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy on the 18th.
