Basketball Game Preview: Blue Hill Bobcats vs. Silver Lake Mustangs

The Blue Hill Bobcats will challenge the Silver Lake Mustangs on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Blue Hill is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Giltner: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Blue Hill blew Giltner out of the water with a 58-19 final score. The matchup marked the Bobcats' most dominant win of the season so far.

Blue Hill had a senior duo take command as Ellie Mangers went 11 for 17 on her way to 26 points and six steals and Reece Mlady almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Mangers has scored at least a third of Blue Hill's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Kohmetscher, who posted six points and five boards.

Blue Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Silver Lake beat Pleasanton 45-36 on Tuesday.

Blue Hill pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Silver Lake, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Blue Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against Silver Lake when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 34-32. Does Blue Hill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Silver Lake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
