Basketball Game Preview: Lake Mary Rams vs. New Smyrna Beach Barracudas

Having just played yesterday, the Lake Mary Rams will head out on the road to face off against the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Smyrna Beach took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Mary, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Lake Mary was able to grind out a solid victory over Oviedo, taking the game 45-37. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Lions are ranked 458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Smyrna Beach has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at home by a 58-43 margin on Wednesday.

New Smyrna Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Lake Mary, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
