Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marathon). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Newman Fighting Cardinals a 24-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Fighting Cardinals: they've now won nine in a row.

Marathon's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Newman, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.
