Basketball Game Preview: Lake Highlands Wildcats vs. MacArthur Cardinals

Lake Highlands and MacArthur are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lake Highlands Wildcats duke it out with the MacArthur Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Lake Highlands was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-36 to Pearce. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 637th, while the Mustangs are ranked 296th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for MacArthur, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Nimitz by a score of 44-33 on Tuesday.

MacArthur's victory bumped their record up to 7-18. As for Lake Highlands, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-18.

Everything came up roses for Lake Highlands against MacArthur in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-15 win. In that contest, Lake Highlands amassed a halftime lead of 34-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
