Softball Recap: Old Forge Comes Up Short

Dunmore hit Old Forge with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils fell 13-8 to the Bucks. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bucks earlier this season, when they won 10-3.

Ava Arnold led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilianna Lenceski, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Old Forge's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Dunmore, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Old Forge and Dunmore should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Blue Devils will take on Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (168 vs. 402). Meanwhile, Dunmore (ranked 135th) will meet Western Wayne (ranked 426th) at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
