Volleyball Recap: Kohler Has No Trouble Against Ozaukee

Kohler's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Ozaukee Warriors with a sharp 3-0 win. This was payback for the Blue Bombers, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

While Kohler might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Ozaukee scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Riley Holzrichter paced Kohler's offense, picking up 14 kills. Holzrichter got some help from Ava Erlien and her 24 assists. Erlien was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Bianca Marini and Adalyn Krenek certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Marini had nine digs, while Krenek had nine kills, eight digs, two blocks, and two aces. Krenek has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last five times she's played.

Kohler is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season. As for Ozaukee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Looking ahead, Kohler will square off against Hilbert at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ozaukee, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Port Washington on the 27th.
