Softball Recap: Marksville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ville Platte last Monday, Marksville came back down to earth. Marksville lost 10-1 to the Grant Cougars on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Marksville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Lachney, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Marksville's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Grant, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marksville will welcome West Feliciana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Feliciana has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.67 runs per game on average), something Marksville will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Grant, they will face off against Delta Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
