Islands had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers, falling 43-21. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

McIntosh was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Jackson, who threw for 110 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven passes.

After each having a week off, Islands and Southeast Bulloch will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. This will be the Sharks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
