Football Recap: Islands Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Islands had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 45-22 to the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Earnest McIntosh had a dynamite game For McIntosh County Academy., rushing for 253 yards and three scores while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. McIntosh was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Mekhi Jackson was another key player, throwing for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven passes.

After each having a week off, Islands and Southeast Bulloch will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. This will be the Sharks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for McIntosh County Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Charlton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
