Basketball Recap: Gainesville Takes a Loss

Gainesville lost against Sanger back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gainesville Leopards were outmatched by the Sanger Indians and fell 51-23. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 872nd, while the Indians are ranked 287th).

Gainesville's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Sanger, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Celina the next time they take the court. Gainesville will head out to face Celina at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while Sanger will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 14th.
