Basketball Recap: Irvin Takes a Loss

Irvin and Clint squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Irvin had to settle for second. They took a 37-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clint Lions. The Rockets have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Mia Enriquez was Irvin's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Clint had a senior duo take command as Anabella Portillo posted 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals and Chloe Arredondo put up 13 points and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Arredondo has scored at least a third of Clint's points.

Irvin's loss dropped their record down to 10-19. As for Clint, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-9.

Irvin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clint, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-33 defeat against Pampa on the 14th.
