Baseball Recap: Bayfield Takes a Loss

Bayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-4 to the Delta Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 12-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Tavian Box made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Heydinger, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Bayfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Delta, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Bayfield will take on Taos in a tournament on Thursday. As for Delta, they will venture away from home to challenge Palisade at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Delta's pitchers better be ready for this one: Palisade has averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
