Football Recap: Northgate Comes Up Short Despite William Jahnke's Big Defensive Game

Northgate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Benicia Panthers. While the Broncos had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Panthers 21-14.

Even if they lost, Northgate's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Benicia's QB won't forget William Jahnke anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Northgate's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Benicia, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Northgate is set to face off against their familiar foe College Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 893 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Benicia will square off against rival Alhambra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
