Volleyball Recap: Woodstock North Thunder vs. Grant Community Bulldogs
Woodstock North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of the Grant Community Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunder of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Woodstock North started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 18-16.
Even though they lost, Woodstock North was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grant Community only served four.
Grant Community was led to victory by Kamryn Richter and Samantha Collins. Richter had four digs and two aces, while Collins had. Richter is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in the last three games she's played.
Woodstock North's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Grant Community, their record now sits at 9-18.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Central the next time they take the court. Woodstock North will head out to face Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Grant Community will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
