E.L. Haynes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-45 to Digital Pioneers Academy.

When it comes to explaining why E.L. Haynes lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jency Beatriz. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Smith, who scored eight points.

Digital Pioneers Academy found their leader in underclassman Aaron Lowman, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Imran B was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

E.L. Haynes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.

E.L. Haynes will head out on the road to square off against BASIS at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (BASIS is ranked 37th, while E.L. Haynes is ranked 39th). Digital Pioneers Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Washington Leadership Academy at 6:45 p.m. on January 12th.
