Softball Recap: Cloverdale's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Cloverdale posted their closest victory since May 21, 2024 on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Shakamak Lakers 8-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Clovers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Paisley Meyerrose was incredible, firing off two home runs and four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aalyiah Burroff, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Cloverdale lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Cloverdale's record now sits at 4-7. As for Shakamak, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Cloverdale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Bloomfield on the 28th. As for Shakamak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-7 victory against Bloomington North on the 28th.
