Baseball Recap: Maconaquah's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Maconaquah hadn't done well against Wabash recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Braves' pitcher stepped up to hand the Apaches a 4-0 shutout. While the Braves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Bennett Isenburg made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Devon Murry was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win was the third in a row for Maconaquah, bringing their record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Wabash, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maconaquah will venture away from home to challenge Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Braves are facing the Giants at the right time seeing as the Giants are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Wabash, they will head out on the road to square off against Rochester at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
