Football Game Preview: Long Creek Dragons vs. Central Catholic Buttons

The Long Creek Dragons will head out to take on the Central Catholic Buttons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Long Creek has given up an average of 32.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Long Creek is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Richland just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Raiders and fell 57-16. The matchup marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 31-23 victory over St. Michael's on Friday.

Long Creek better keep an eye on Joseph Carreon. He was instrumental in Central Catholic's win, rushing for 113 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Carreon's longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Central Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Long Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Central Catholic, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
