Baseball Recap: Casa Grande's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Casa Grande lost against Ukiah back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Casa Grande fell just short of Ukiah by a score of 3-2. The loss was the Gauchos' first of the season.

Danny Mercado was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Max Drumm also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Casa Grande fell to 6-1. As for Ukiah, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casa Grande will host Napa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Casa Grande their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Ukiah, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Ukiah Wildcats challenge Windsor Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Windsor will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Ukiah surely won't give up without a fight.
