Baseball Game Preview: Waterloo Pirates vs. Luther Prep Phoenix

The Waterloo Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Luther Prep Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Waterloo has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 17.

On Tuesday, Waterloo came up short against Belleville and fell 4-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Luther Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Brookfield Academy on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Phoenix as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Michel Krebs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last ten matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Schwartz, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Luther Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Waterloo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Luther Prep, their record now sits at 5-13.
