Baseball Game Preview: Westmoreland Bulldogs vs. Clinton Comets

The Westmoreland Bulldogs will take on the Clinton Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Westmoreland is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Westmoreland managed to slip by Oriskany the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 9-1 to the Skyhawks on Saturday.

Mt. Markham hit Clinton with a five-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets came up short against the Mustangs, falling 9-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Comets were not able to get on the board.

Westmoreland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Clinton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Westmoreland might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Clinton in their previous matchup on May 2nd. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
