Baseball Recap: Douglass Takes a Loss

Douglass has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Groveton. That makes it the first time this season Douglass has let down their home crowd.

This is the second loss in a row for Douglass and nudges their season record down to 11-6-1. As for Groveton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Douglass will challenge New Summerfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Indians are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Groveton, they will face off against Hemphill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
