Volleyball Game Preview: Cobden Appleknockers vs. Cairo Pilots

The Cobden Appleknockers will challenge the Cairo Pilots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Monday, Cobden came up short against Vienna and fell 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Appleknockers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Cairo also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Joppa-Maple Grove by a score of 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-9.

Cairo's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cobden, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Cobden was able to grind out a solid win over Cairo when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Appleknockers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pilots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
