Soccer Game Preview: South Stokes vs. East Wilkes

The South Stokes Sauras will head out on the road to take on the East Wilkes Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. South Stokes will be strutting in after a win while East Wilkes will be coming in after a loss.

South Stokes took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Alleghany by a score of 2-0. South Stokes haven't had any issues with Alleghany recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, East Wilkes was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elkin. East Wilkes have struggled against Elkin recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

East Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for South Stokes, their win bumped their record up to 6-4-1.

Everything went South Stokes' way against East Wilkes in their previous matchup back in March, as South Stokes made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sauras since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
