Softball Recap: Colerain Comes Up Short

Colerain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 19-4 to the Lakota East Thunderhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunderhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-3 two weeks ago.

Natali McGuire was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Colerain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lakota East, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Coming up, Colerain will welcome Purcell Marian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lakota East, they will head out on the road to take on Sycamore at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Aviators have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
