Preview: North Quincy Raiders vs. Hanover Hawks
North Quincy is 2-7 against Hanover since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Quincy Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hanover Hawks at 7:00 p.m. North Quincy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Hanover is ranked ninth).
Last Friday, North Quincy suffered a tough 42-22 loss at the hands of Scituate.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Will Conley, who picked up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Conley torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Mikey Galligan, who threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt.
Meanwhile, Hanover put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Pembroke 31-8. Considering Hanover has won four contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Hanover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vincent Mancini, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Scalzi, who threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
North Quincy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Hanover, their victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0.
North Quincy took a serious blow against Hanover in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 42-0. Will North Quincy have more luck at home instead of on the road?
