Softball Recap: Excel Beats Straughn for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Excel waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Straughn Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Tigers back in March, they had to take a 4-0 defeat.

Excel pushed their record up to 18-13 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Straughn, their loss dropped their record down to 15-15.

Excel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Straughn, they will head out on the road to face off against McKenzie at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. McKenzie has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.19 runs per game on average), something Straughn will no doubt try to take advantage of.
