Newark Catholic proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Brookville Blue Devils 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Green Wave, who have now won five contests in a row.

Leah Caudill paced Newark Catholic's offense, picking up 12 kills. Caudill got some help from Natalie Harrington and her 20 assists. Harrington was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Newark Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Brookville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Newark Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against St. Henry on the 30th. As for Brookville, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Shawnee on the 30th.
