Recap: Canterbury Crusaders vs. Bell Creek Academy Panthers
It was a good run, but the Canterbury Crusaders unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bell Creek Academy. Canterbury has not had much luck with Bell Creek Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Bell Creek Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christyana Allen led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Allen has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Falynne Fischer, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Canterbury's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Bell Creek Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9.
Canterbury will be playing at home against Bradenton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bradenton Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Bell Creek Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Palm Harbor University at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th.
