Lawrence County extends home winning streak to five

Recap: Lawrence County Cougars vs. Purvis Tornadoes

In what's become a running theme this season, the Lawrence County Cougars gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 50-29 margin over Purvis. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lawrence County.

Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was A'Niyah Reynolds, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Systren Eliza Elenus was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and five steals.

Lawrence County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Purvis, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Purvis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aggies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Forrest County Agricultural is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
