Basketball Recap: Meridian Picks Up 18th Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Meridian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Century Centurions 84-51 on Monday. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Meridian had a senior duo take command as Colin Monan went 13 for 23 en route to 37 points and five steals and AJ Flenoid went 9 of 16 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monan has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shamar Easley, who posted five points along with five assists and three steals.

Meridian pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.3 points. As for Century, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian will venture away from home to square off against Agape Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meridian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Agape Christian likes a good challenge. As for Century, they will head out on the road to challenge Egyptian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
