Basketball Recap: Nowata Comes Up Short

Nowata was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Caney Valley Trojans, falling 55-33. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ironmen of the 43-36 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Nowata's loss dropped their record down to 0-9-1. As for Caney Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Nowata will challenge South Coffeyville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Coffeyville will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Nowata surely won't give up without a fight. As for Caney Valley, they will square off against Dewey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
