Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Catholic Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

St. Joseph Catholic extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Leah Hurley. The St. Joseph Catholic Eagles managed a 35-30 win over the Elgin Wildcats on Friday thanks in part to Hurley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Another player making a difference was Sophie Barajas, who posted 11 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

St. Joseph Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Elgin, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Granger the next time they take the court. Elgin will head out to face Granger at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while St. Joseph Catholic will play them later in the day, at 11:10 a.m.
