Baseball Recap: Peninsula's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Peninsula dropped their record down to 11-6-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gig Harbor Tides. The Seahawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tides from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Gig Harbor, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games.

For Gig Harbor's part, not much got past Quentin Bockhorn, who gave up just five hits to keep Peninsula off the board. Bockhorn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Daniel Porras was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Corley, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

When Peninsula and Gig Harbor next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose.
