Basketball Recap: Sierra Pacific Golden Bears vs. Central Valley Christian Cavaliers
Sierra Pacific lost against Central Valley Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers.
Despite the loss, Sierra Pacific still got an impressive performance from Colin Dodd, who posted 16 points and five boards. Nevin Pitkin was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Caden Lloyd was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 12 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds for Central Valley Christian. Lloyd's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Grant Hyde, who put up eight points and eight boards.
Sierra Pacific's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Central Valley Christian, they pushed their record up to 17-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Pacific will square off against Selma at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra Pacific is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66 points per game this season. As for Central Valley Christian, they will take on Kingsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kingsburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
