Basketball Recap: Bradford Railroaders vs. Preble Shawnee Arrows
Bradford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Preble Shawnee Arrows. The Railroaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Arrows apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Leading Preble Shawnee to victory were Aubrey Unger and Josie Mondello-Garrett. Unger dropped a triple-double on 15 points, ten boards, and ten steals, while Mondello-Garrett went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Unger is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Tangeman, who posted six points and six rebounds.
Bradford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Preble Shawnee, they moved to 5-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bradford will face off against Lehman Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Preble Shawnee, they will challenge Oakwood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
