After losing to Haysville Campus the last time they met, South decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Colts 9-7.

Jaxon Anthony was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Breeden, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

South kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

South's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Haysville Campus, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.

Looking ahead, South will face off against Salina Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Haysville Campus, they are taking a road trip to face off against Circle on Monday.
